Unexpected Journey

Today, Muni (the Dean) and I went to the hospital.
Clerking the case for sure and hoping there's procedures that we can observe.

Today, only the two of us come to the hospital (so rajin huh?).
The others might be staying at home.
Studying and Relaxing.

So we went to Ward 3A (Surgical Ward).
Lucky, there's some procedure in there.
Blood culture. 53 years old male bitten by centipedes.

After done observing it, we went to clerking stuff.
A 50 years old male with chief complaint of pain on right iliac fossa.
We took the history and do some examination.

As we're about to taking his BP,
suddenly one of the nurse come to us
"Medical Students, Mr. S wanna talk with one of u on the phone"

Ooh Ooh. Have we did something wrong?
(Sgt cuak bile dipanggil sebegini..)
So, we're stopped our examination and went to the nurse counter.

Muni pick up the phone and talked to him
I'm waiting dengan berdebar-debar

Actually, Mr. S wanna invite us to observe the Appendectomy and perhaps can assist him .
(*sigh* lege and at the same time, gile happy)
First time entering the OT.
(Rezeki bulan puase. hehe)

Both of us went to the OT. Scrubbing in.
We did observed two appendectomy.
And seriously, it was superbly cool.

p/s : I watched a death in front of my eyes last weekend. A male with Heart Failure.

MORGUE

It's been nearly a week right now, I'm on Surgical Posting. It's bit different from medicine because most of them are in quite critical state (I think.)
So, it's a bit difficult to find a patient who can cooperate with me to do some clerking stuff and examinations. If u r lucky, there's one or perhaps 2 -3 patients who are not-so-critical and can cooperate. Yesterday, for the first time ever, I observed on how to do Lumbar Puncture (It's really hurts. huhu) and an autopsy.

" John Doe, a 17 years old male involved in MVA and died instantly at the scene. On Autopsy, it was found that, he suffered massive Hematoma on the Parietal Lobe of the Skull and Hemothorax. "

So, this is the case. I observed it from the beginning till the end in the Morgue. Poor guy, he's 17 and still a student. Died because of MVA. Please do drive carefully after this.

We won't know when exactly our 'time' will come. It could be at anytime and anywhere.

Since it was the first time, agak goyang lutut jugak lah.
From the clothes removed, then they're measured the body parts, find bruises and etc on the body. Next, they open the chest. It's fulled with blood.
Then, they closed up and cleaned the body.

And till now, I kept remembering it. huhu
